Sound Bridge Music - Song School Scholarships

As part of Sound Bridge Music’s pillar program to provide professional development opportunities for Front Range musicians at all stages of their careers, Sound Bridge Music is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring 2 full scholarships for Planet Bluegrass’ 2018 Song School. Drawing participants from across the country and around the world, this program has changed lives and launched careers. 
In offering this scholarship, Sound Bridge Music endeavors to provide two individuals the opportunity to participate who might not otherwise be able afford it. The scholarship includes full tuition, camping fee, vehicle fee and three-day pass for the 2018 FolksFest, which immediately follows Song School. Each scholarship is valued at $885.

Dates: August 12th – 16th, 2018 Immediately followed by 2018 FolksFest on August 17th - 19th, 2018.

Established Artist Scholarship (1)
Select this option if you are an individual who generally receives payment for performing your music and has produced at least one compilation of your work (such as a CD, LP, or digital album) whether for profit or free distribution. As part of the application, the Established Artist must submit a video (via link) performing an original song  showcasing their singing, playing  and songwriting abilities.  The video should be only of the applicant (no side players).

New Artist Application (1)
Select this option if you are an individual who has never: written a song (or who may have songs but have not regularly performed them); been paid to perform; and, has not yet produced a compilation of your work (such as a CD, LP, or digital album).

Q: How do the applications for the Established Artist and New Artist differ?
A: Both applications involve answering the same basic questions, however the Established Artist application includes the additional requirement of submittal of a performance video of the artists original work.

Q: How will the applications be evaluated?
A: The New Artist applications will be evaluated on the responses to the questions contained in the application. The Established Artist application will be evaluated on the responses to the application questions AND the performance video

Q: May I apply to both categories?
A: No. Only one application is permitted per person. If you are uncertain which to which category you should apply, select the category that you feel best allows you to demonstrate why you should be selected for this scholarship.
